SDMC Dy. Commissioner Prem Shankar Jha to address Delhi NCR Talks OOH Conference

Prem Shankar Jha will speak on the theme ‘Is Delhi OOH overcome by a policy paralysis – Perspectives on OAP & civic norms’ at the Delhi NCR Talks OOH Conference that will be held at the Le Meridien hotel in Gurugram on Nov 17

Even as the Indian OOH industry gears up to ride the next growth wave, there is a clarion call from different quarters of the industry seeking a standard, consistent OOH regulatory framework. In many ways, the policies enunciated and implemented in Delhi are seen to set the tone for OOH policies in other parts of the country. However, the Outdoor Advertising Policy implemented in the Delhi market itself have generated a debate on its different provisions.

Prem Shankar Jha, Deputy Commissioner, South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) will speak on the different dimensions of the policy and related matters in his address on the topic ‘Is Delhi OOH overcome by a policy paralysis – Perspectives on OAP & civic norms’ at the upcoming Delhi NCR Talks OOH Conference that will be held at the Le Meridien hotel in Gurugram on November 17, 2017.

Jha has been proactively developing new avenues for OOH advertising in the south zone of the city, while at the same keeping a close vigil on any unauthorised outdoor business. In his role as Deputy Commissioner of SDMC, heads the advertising department and has been playing an analytical role in ushering in a standard  outdoor advertising policy in the zone under his jurisdiction. Along with various departments such as Remunerative Project Cell, Parking Cell as well as works as Officer on Special Duty, Engineering, under his leadership, SDMC has managed to increase its advertisement revenue from Rs 40 crore in 2015-16 to Rs 120 crore in 2016-17. This financial year SDMC is eyeing a revenue target of Rs 150 crore.

An engineering graduate who is also an alumnus of IIM Lucknow, Jha has worked with organisation such as NTPIC and Indian railways. Among his various interests, he has also pursued freelance writing and also a noted Author and has written several books on Life skills, Decision making, International Relation and econometrics.
