Agra MC specifies locations for hoardings in city

By Bhawana Anand - April 26, 2018

The move will help the civic body to root out unauthorised media sites, but the ease of doing business at the specified locations would depend on the terms laid down in the tenders

After having set an ad revenue target of Rs 25 crore for the financial year, Agra Municipal Corporation has identified 796 locations in the city where hoardings may be put up. The civic authority has also issued a notice to the effect that any hoarding that is erected outside of the 796 locations will be deemed unauthorised. Many of the locations fall in stretches like Yamuna Bridge to Etmadullah, Rambagh Crossing to Hathras Road, Kothi Meena Bazaar to Bodla, Rajamandi to Noori Gate, and Mantola Crossing to Bijlighar and many more.

“Indeed this will help in curbing illegal sites but it is difficult to say that it will be helpful for our business. The viability would depend on terms laid down in the tenders such as base price, duration, size and etc. If all such elements are in favour of business and media owners, only then it will be successful,” explains Amerish Nath, Director, Frank Advertisers.
