India Talks OOH Conference in Mumbai tomorrow

The 1st edition of India Talks OOH conference, to be organised at Sahara Star hotel in Mumbai on March 8, will open with the Keynote by Sam Balsara, Chairman of Madison World on the theme of ‘The Rise and Rise of OOH’, focusing upon the huge scope for OOH to build itself as a far larger media business in the wake of tech adoption, digital transformation, creative renaissance facilitated by smart displays, which are all evidenced in the global markets, and that will likely become the reality in the Indian market.

The pandemic period has visibly amplified the need for significant makeover of specialist agencies operating in India, in regard to 

(i)    use of granular audience data for media planning & buying, 

(ii)   alignment of OOH with omnichannel communication strategy, 

(iii)   use of sophisticated media monitoring system, 

(iv)   and preparations for going programmatic with wider use of DOOH.

Meenakshi Menon, Founder of Spatial Access which is now a Deloitte business, will share her perspectives on these aspects in her address on ‘Reimagining the specialist role in a fast changing media business environment’.

Highlighting the brand marketers’ perspectives on getting the best out of OOH, the session on ‘How OOH can be greater impact medium’ will be steered by Jayesh Yagnik, CEO, MOMS, with presentations and discussions engaging Anand Dubey, Head – Marketing, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services; Jignesh Dawda, Vice President - Marketing, IDFC Asset Management Company; and Jaikishin Chhaproo, Head – Media & PR, ITC Ltd (PCPBD).

Over the last two years, Indian OOH has faced insurmountable challenges. Noomi Mehta, Chairman of Indian Outdoor Advertising Association will present the collective steps being taken in his address on the theme ‘One Industry, One Voice: Leading the change from the front’.

Today, as the OOH industry enters a transformative phase, with adoption of new technologies, introduction of innovative advertising formats, and the like, the imperative of effective marketing of the media assets becomes vitally important. Lloyd Mathias, Leading Business Strategist & Angel Investor, will be sharing his perspectives on how the OOH industry could collectively push their marketing drive, in his address on ‘How marketing can make the difference for media owning business’.

Today as Indian OOH retraces the growth path, the business is expected to undergo a major makeover, fashioned by adoption and application of new technologies. In the session ‘TechTalk: The programmatic OOH jamboree – sounds to pick in all that noise’, Vinkoo Chakraborty, Business Head, Rapport; Dipankar Sanyal, CEO, Platinum OOH; Gulab Patil, CEO of Lemma; and Syed Haseeb Arfath, Chief Technology Officer, Signpost India will bring forth the opportunities to drive pDOOH in India, and the challenges thereof.

Highly accomplished Brand Expert, Jagdeep Kapoor, Founder Chairman & Managing Director, Samsika Marketing Consultants, will be speaking on the theme of ‘How OOH reinforces the marketing muscle of regional & startup brands’.

The knowledge sessions will conclude with an inspirational talk by Celebrated Mountaineer & Motivational Speaker Satyarup Siddhanta, who holds the Guinness World Record for being the youngest in the world to climb the highest mountains and volcanoes of all the seven continents. He will speak on the theme of ‘Scaling new peaks of excellence – meeting challenges head on’.
