HDFC ERGO acquires naming rights to Airport Road Metro Station
With a daily footfall of over 54,000 commuters, the newly branded station now showcases HDFC ERGO’s identity across multiple touchpoints—ticket counters, staircases, elevators, pillars, entry and exit points, among others.
HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company, a leading private sector insurer, announced the renaming of the Airport Road Metro Station to ‘HDFC ERGO Airport Road Metro Station’. This initiative marks a strategic move to connect with citizens across diverse backgrounds while enhancing brand visibility at one of Mumbai’s busiest commuter points.
Located near the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Andheri (Mumbai), a key transit hub with a daily footfall of over 54,000 commuters, the newly branded station now showcases HDFC ERGO’s identity across multiple touchpoints—ticket counters, staircases, elevators, pillars, entry and exit points, among others. The branding extends beyond visuals: in-train voice announcements now include the station’s new name – HDFC ERGO Airport Road Metro Station, ensuring repeated audio recall.

Since its launch in 2014, this metro line has not only been connecting directly to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, capturing the attention of high intent travellers, including business professionals, international fliers and local residents, but the station also lies on one of the busiest roads in the city, making it a highly favourable location as the brand visibility is extended both inside and outside the metro station. Adding a cultural touch and spirit of the city to the launch, HDFC ERGO Airport Road Metro Station also features mural artwork on the pillars, created by local artists under the theme ‘Mumbai on the Go’, celebrating the city’s resilience and diversity. These mural artworks have transformed the HDFC ERGO Airport Road Metro station into a cinematic frame of the city, with each pillar capturing a vivid moment like – monsoon rains splashing the streets, festive celebrations, traditional Mumbai family, Mumbai local trains, Mumbai Sea Link traffic jams, pets on the evening walks and so on.
Through these vivid arts, the brand ethos of HDFC ERGO emerges stronger – a brand that caters to every Mumbaikar’s insurance needs relating to health, motor, home, travel, and more.
