UCO Bank gets innovative with pillar branding

By Nabamita Chatterjee - March 03, 2014

The five pillars having 20 facia and 10 cantilevers gave the brand ample scope for displaying all their schemes in an explicit manner .

As part of their celebration for completing 71 years in public sector banking , UCO Bank recently rolled a strategic outdoor campaign in Kolkata involving various out-of-home formats. The several mediums included hoardings, kiosks, gantry, road divider, AC Metro Train etc. However, the medium that the brand leveraged the best was the AJC Bose Road Pillars (5 nos.) which were executed by Accord Advertising. The stretch from Rabindra Sadan to Nandan Multiplex which is covered by these 5 pillars is one of the most busy stretches in Kolkata where the traffic caters to a whole cross-section of the society. Thus the complete zone branding for UCO Bank as part of their campaign has grabbed the respective TG the brand wanted to hit.

Since these 5 pillars have 20 facia and 10 cantilevers, the brand has got ample scope for displaying all their schemes in an explicit manner which will be up for three months. This format has evolved with time in outdoor giving an opportunity to the client to advertise multiple brands to several people all at the same time, as the multiple facia's of the pillars serve as separate boards for separate products.

To make it more noticeable the figure 71 years is reproduced in one of the pillars through LED display. Fixing the LED on a canvas and maintaining was a very tough job on the part of the outdoor media owner Accord as it required very detailed monitoring.
