Srishti expands airportSrishti Communications has further expanded its portfolio of transit media assets with the acquisition of sole advertising rights at Belgaum, Mysore and Agatti airports. These rights were won along with the sole rights at Huballi airport in a cluster tendering. The rights have been acquired from Airport Authority of India (AAI) for a period of five year each.

S Kumar, MD of Srishti Group, is bullish on acquiring sole rights at non-metro airports that are expected to see significant growth in air traffic and passenger movement. The Belgaum airport, oldest in north Karnataka, has been upgraded with a new terminal building spread over 3,600 sq.m. Under UDAAN 3 scheme, the airport will have some 40 flights a day connecting to cities like Bengaluru, Pune, Tirupati, Mumbai, Surat, Indore, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Nasik, Hyderabad, and Kadapa.

Likewise, the Mysuru airport, also covered under the UDAAN 3 scheme, has air connectivity with Chennai, Belgaum, Hyderabad, Goa, Kochi, Bengaluru, Tirupati, and Delhi. The city of Mysuru is both a tourist destination and has a growing industrial base that will push air traffic there.

Agatti airport is located in the union territory of Lakshawadeep on the Arabian Sea as a part of the 36 islands. Agatti airport has flights to destinations like Bengaluru, Kochi, and Chennai. The AAI is planning to build a bridge on stilts over the sea to extend the runway which will allow aircrafts like the ATR-72 to be operated without any payload restrictions making it a perfect holiday and business destination. The Agatti airport will give more spurs to tourism in this scenic region.

Pertinent to note that Srishti Communications holds the exclusive advertising rights at Trivandrum International Airport and now holds the sole rights at five airports in all.
