Kinetic India wins ‘Campaign of the Year’ award in OAA 2022 contest

Kinetic India won 4 Gold, followed by Rapport Outdoor Advertising and Tribes Communication winning 3 each. 51 awards were given away -- with 19 Gold, 16 Silver and 16 Bronze – in the OAA 2022 function held at Westin Mumbai Powai Lake on August 18.

In an evening marked by glamour, excitement and anticipation, the winners of the much awaited Outdoor Advertising Awards (OAA) 2022 were announced on August 18. Totally, 51 awards were given away this year, including the Campaign of the Year award, with 19 Gold, 16 Silver and 16 Bronze. Kinetic India won the ‘Campaign of the Year’ award for the popular Money Heist Ciao India campaign.

The ‘Campaign of the Year’ award this year was shortlisted by the Jury from among the top three entries that received the maximum number of Gold in the Brand category. 

Kinetic India won 4 Gold, followed by Rapport Outdoor Advertising and Tribes Communication winning 3 each. The Gold for the Outdoor Media Plan of the Year - National was bagged by Tribes Communication for the Swiggy Instamart campaign, while the Gold for the Media Plan of the Year - Local went to Rapport Outdoor Advertising for the Amazon Prime Video Jai Bheem campaign. 

The Brand category had 11 sub-categories, and totally 19 awards were given away in this category including 8 Gold, 5 Silver and 6 Bronze trophies

In the Media Format Innovation category, RoshanSpace Brandcom won Gold for the Bandra Focal innovation, while Zen Digital won Silver for Broadcoasters and Wallop Advertising won Bronze for ‘A cut above the rest’ campaign of Shapoorji Pallonji.

Under Special categories, Tribes Communication won Gold in the ‘Innovation of the Year’ sub-category for ‘Skoda : Choose what really matters’ campaign, while Silver in the same category went to two participants - Shapoorji Pallonji for the ‘Shapoorji Pallonji: India's first 4D hoarding’ project, and to Active Innovations Media for their Amazon Prime ‘Coolie No.1’ Mega Outdoor Installations. The Bronze in this category went to Rapport Outdoor Advertising for the Amazon Prime Video: ‘Jai Bhim’ campaign.

Under the same Special Categories, Madison OOH won Gold in the sub-category ‘Best use of Ambient Media’ for the ‘Pulse Candy Traffic Signal’, while Kinetic India won Bronze for the ‘Cadbury Silk Valentine - How far Will You Go For Love?’ campaign. There was no Silver in this category. 

The other sub-category in the Special Categories is the Activation category in which Kinetic India won Gold for the Netflix ‘Money Heist - Ciao, India’! campaign, while Tribes Communication won Silver for ‘Nycil Cooling Express’  and Mindwave Media  won Bronze for the ‘Emami Navratna Oil - Kumbh Mein Sukoon’ campaign.

The next sub-category in the Special categories is Digital OOH in which Times Delhi Airport Advertising won Gold for ‘Zomato - Automated Contextual Campaign Integrated with FIDS’, while Bronze went to Rapport Outdoor Advertising for ‘Amazon Prime Video - Wheel of Time’ and Kinetic India for ‘Netflix India went to Dubai, New York and London’. There was no Silver in this category.  

Zest Outdoor Media won Gold in the sub-category ‘Green Initiative’ under Special categories for the World’s largest installation of Solar Panels on hoardings, while Silver went to Tribes Communication for ‘Greenply - Green Bus Shetlers’ and to Interspace Communication for ‘Broker Netwok -Touch lives beyond marketing guidelines’. There was no Bronze in this category.

In the sub-category International, Kinetic India won Gold for the ‘Netflix - India went to Dubai, New York and London’ campaign, while Posterscope India won Bronze for ‘MPL Sports #BillionCheersJersey’.There was no Silver given in this category.

Totally, 230 entries were received as part of this year’s OAA contest, out of which 94 were shortlisted. The OAA 2022 jury comprised as many as 35 members, including a diverse mix of Brand Marketers and Creative Heads, and the judging was done at two levels – online & offline with EY being the tech partner.

The awards were given away at a grand finale held as part of the conclusion of 2-day OOH industry event Outdoor Advertising Convention (OAC) 2022 at the Westin Mumbai Powai Lake during August 17-18.
