One of India’s best known media owning firms Roshanspace Brandcom which operates a range of iconic and premium OOH media assets including networked DOOH media in the city of Mumbai has taken up the title sponsorship of the upcoming Outdoor Advertising Awards (OAA) 2023 contest and awards function.
Roshanspace Brandcom, which has played an instrumental role in the beautification of the city landscape of Mumbai by installing aesthetically designed media sites, apart from the towering Bandra Focal, has been a strong advocate for enhancing the creative quotient of Indian OOH, a belief system that inspired the company to take up the lead sponsorship of last year’s OAA contest and awards function, and has reinforced its conviction play by successively taking up the lead sponsorship of this year’s OAA contest and awards function.
OAA, one of the most coveted awards in the Indian OOH industry, has continually set the benchmark standards for recognising excellence in OOH media planning, creativity, innovations, campaign execution, alignment with green goals, use of digital OOH media as well as ambient media, and indeed an investment in impactful OOH media sites.
The OAA contest is in its 17th year and will receive entries in 7 categories, covering 23 sub-categories. While OAA 2022 was a testament to the resilience of the industry in the tumultuous Covid years, OAA 2023 will shine the light on the remarkable growth and transformation of Indian OOH in the period April 1, 2022, and March 31, 2023.
Commenting on the brand association with OAA 2023 as the Title Sponsor, Junaid Shaikh, Founder & CMD of Roshanspace Brandcom told Media4Growth, “We partner with OAC because we think that we have a very similar DNA in terms of pushing the boundaries to showcase the best work of the Indian ooh industry. Roshanspace and the team at OAC share a common quality when it comes to resilience (the show must go on attitude). They have kept the light shining on the OOH industry through tough times and have consistently made an effort to bring the industry fraternity together. I have observed their journey and I think it’s a very genuine platform that has tried to bring the best of knowledge centres and global perspectives to the Indian continent. He added, “My expectations from the event are for the stakeholders of our industry to come together to glorify the event by their grace and really, collaborate to unify and join hands to fight a larger battle of strategising on how we can bring the value to OOH that the online digital industry brought to their medium and to bring in an average growth of 30% yoy.”
Junaid points out that the online digital industry and DOOH could be complementary to each other “if we introduce the science of measurement. impact, and a qualitative and quantitative structure in planning, buying, selling and executing campaigns.”
“We expect that the unsung heroes (the people behind the scenes) get recognised for the life that they put at risk to deliver on the timelines of the campaign. I expect to have an experience of how we can inspire and be inspired by the work of those who think beyond their KRAs and KPIs and disrupt the industry with their talent, and their vision,” he said.
“I expect to see a live show of the most creative minds battling it out in entertaining the attendees, and influencing them to be able to use this incredible medium to its true potential,” said Junaid.
The announcement of the opening of the OAA 2023 will be shortly announced. The entries will be judged through a combination of online and in-person Jury meets.
The OAA 2023 awards function will be held on the evening of July 29, 2023, at the state-of-the-art Manekshaw Centre in Delhi which is also the venue of the knowledge session of the Outdoor Advertising Convention (OAC) 2023 and OOH Expo 2023.
