Srishti unveils state-of-the-art DOOH media at iconic Chennai Central Railway Station

The DOOH screens, currently under trial operations, will be utilised for display of Railway related information, alerts and updates in the event of any disaster management and advertising.

Leading transit media owning company Srishti, a forerunner in the digital out of home (DOOH) advertising segment in multiple states, has launched state-of-the-art DOOH media on the façade of Chennai Central Railway Station, the entrance of Moore Market Complex and the Metro Station entry point near the upcoming Coach Food court. The DOOH screens, currently under trial operations, will be utilised for display of Railway related information, alerts and updates in the event of any disaster management and advertising.

Through this pioneering initiative, Srishti, which has been awarded exclusive rights by Southern Railway to put up the DOOH assets on the façade of the iconic building and on the walkway to the station, and the DOOH installations are bringing about a remarkable makeover of the station exterior and surrounding areas. 

The vantage location commands huge eyeballs. The Chennai Central Railway Station alone sees movement of 5.5 lakh people a day. Add to some 2 lakh people movement around the Moore Market Complex and 1.5 lakh at the Metro station and surrounding areas. The adjoining road see movement of around  5.75 lakh people. These numbers add up to a significant size of audience for the new DOOH screens.

S Kumar, Managing Director of Srishti states that the company has used the latest DOOH media display solutions to ensure that passengers and people moving on the main road are able to view the train information with ease. “The display quality becomes particularly important now, so it was our endeavour to provide the best display solutions that are unmissable to the passengers and audiences,” he says. Srishti, having won the ad rights for this location for a period of 5-years, will be leveraging its experience of handling DOOH networks at railways to deliver high quality media and advertising solutions. 

With meticulous planning and design, Srishti has been able to augment the aesthetics of the façade and exterior of the Central Railway Station that have been utilised for advertising displays for decades, dating back to the 1930s and 1940s when brands like Murphy’s Radio, Bush Transistors had prominent displays on the building. Srishti Communications had the media space up until the 2000s, with static media for ad displays featuring brands like Airtel, The Hindu newspaper and others running their campaigns on those formats.

“We are excited to launch start-of-the-art DOOH media units at the iconic Chennai Central Railway Station that provide train and passenger information on the screens interspersed with brand advertising and social communications,” says Kumar, while adding the DOOH media include a first-of-its-kind curved LED screen with 3D content placed on the façade of the building, a large DOOH display median showing train information, and a V-shaped 2-sided unit above a food outlet.
