Kolkata Outdoor Premier League promises a different turf war

The 2019 edition of Kolkata Outdoor Premier League (KOPL), organised by the Outdoor Advertising Association West Bengal (OAAWB), will get underway on February 8. The single-day tournament will feature six teams – representing media owning firms and agencies such as Karukrit Advertising, Sampark Advertising, Dius, Incoda, Ad Ideas and King Site Publicity. To promote the event, the organisers are using large formats in the city, while the venue branding will draw in other advertisers.
About the event, Arup Choudhury, President, OAAWB and Secretary, KOPL, said, “Since 2014 we have been organising KOPL. The third year of KOPL is generating terrific excitement and is played more or less like an IPL in a small format.”
The idea of this event is to engage and connect media owners and the outdoor agencies of the city to showcase the power of the outdoor fraternity. “Over the years this event has gradually becoming popular. This year it is creating bigger noise in terms of the participation. We have had to refuse participation of some agencies as we were unable to accommodate them within the restricted timeframe of the match that will be followed by lunch, dinner and after-match cocktail party,” adds Surojit Sen, VP, KOPL.
KOPL is associated by brands like Senco Jewellers and Shyam Sundar Jewellers.
