Cupshup to hit Rs. 12 crore this fiscal year

A cup branding specialised agency pegs big for the future of the cup-branding

In the conventional dominated Indian OOH industry, new innovative advertising formats seem to be gaining momentum, gaining a significant share of marketing budget. Launched 5 years ago, Cupshup, a paper cup branding agency, clocked a revenue of Rs 4.5 crore in the last fiscal year, and is expecting to touch Rs 12 crore of revenues this year.

“Most of the established brands use our medium as part of their 360-degree campaigns focused on grabbing eyeballs and building brand/product awareness. With our media being quite unique, most of the brands work with us directly to be a separate entity in their marketing strategy. Branding specialists and agencies have started to understand the effectiveness of our media over the course of time,” shares Sanil Jain, Co-Founder, Cupshup.

“While different categories of brands contribute to growth, clients who are most receptive and open to experimenting are start-ups,” adds Sanil.

The agency, which operates in 8 cities and has partners in more than 30 cities, is also gaining confidence amongst outdoor specialist agencies, where their agency business has grown from just being 5% last year to 15% this year.

Talking about his upcoming plans, Sanil shares, “We are scaling our network for Cupshup and activation services, while building new and interesting partnerships. Apart from that we are scaling up our creative services portfolio aggressively. Also, we are working on a new digital product with which we aim to revolutionize the way digital marketing is done in India. The product is slated to go live in early next year.”
