Catch ‘Drishyam 2’ now on paper cups!
Innovative colour changing cup technology has been used on paper cups for the first time to create buzz around the Malayalam thriller flick
George Kutty, the protagonist of the latest Malayalam rage ‘Drishyam 2’ showing on Amazon Prime, can now be seen on a new screen – paper cups! The OTT platform Amazon Prime Video has leveraged the innovative new medium of paper cup branding to promote the film starring superstar Mohanlal.
The OTT platform has used colour changing technology on paper cups, something hitherto restricted to ceramic cups. These cups are manufactred by Ginger Cup, Ginger Media Group. In this first ever kind of activity, the cups printed with ‘George Kutty is Back’ statement on black surface transforms into a new creative showcasing the protagonist of the flick along with streaming details. And once the hot beverage is taken out, the cup creative changes back to a normal one.
The ideation and execution of the campaign were all done by GingerCup, a part of Ginger Media Company. A day long activity was conducted across several cities in Kerala including Thrissur, Calicut, Cochin and Trivandrum, where the cups were distributed in tea and coffee joints.
