By M4G Bureau - March 31, 2023

PPDS becomes Oracle Red Bull Racing’s exclusive digital display supplier for race day weekends, and Innovation Partner for team’s technology campus.

PPDS has become the exclusive Oracle Red Bull Racing ‘Digital Display Supplier’ for the 2023 and 2024 FIA Formula One season, as part of an extended and expanded official relationship.

PPDS has been an official Team Supplier for Oracle Red Bull Racing since 2022 and will provide the two-time, reigning Formula One™ World Championship team with a range of custom-specified and specially designed Philips professional displays and monitors for the team’s Technology Campus in Milton Keynes and for all 23 races in the 2023 F1 schedule.

Playing a range of important roles, displays will be used to support Oracle Red Bull Racing’s visual needs and requirements, from the pitlanes through to the stylish Oracle Red Bull Racing Paddock Club, where more than 17 Philips professional displays support the team in providing guests with exclusive race day experiences. These include live 4K UHD race coverage, access to exclusive behind-the-scenes content, links to the pit lane, and audio feeds from the drivers and crew.

The centrepiece for the Oracle Red Bull Racing Paddock Club is a ‘larger-than-life’ 10m2 Ultra HD Philips dvLED videowall, built and designed exclusively for the hospitality team. Measuring 4.85m wide and 2.05m high, the 48 cabinets, 1.5 pixels, 8 x 6 Philips L-Line 9000 Series dvLED wall has been a game-changer for the venue, delivering immersive experiences for VIP guests, while reducing set-up times from days to just a few hours.

Christian Horner, Team Principal at Oracle Red Bull Racing and Red Bull Technology, said: “We always look for our partners’ cultures to have synergies with our own. Both Oracle Red Bull Racing and PPDS strive for excellence and working together with our teams to bring high performance is a shared quality. The emphasis on teamwork, partnership and innovation, and the entrepreneurial and agile ways of working at PPDS made them the ideal partner for us. Our teams and our guests have been delighted by the super-sized Philips LED walls, delivering crystal clear pictures in stunning HD that bring all the action of the racetrack and the pit lane into the Paddock Club itself.”

LED-ing from the front

The Philips dvLED display is built into two separate, unique and highly durable flight cases, designed by PPDS and built in partnership with fellow NL-based firm, AMPCO Flashlight, allowing for a ‘pop-up-pop-down’ installation and de-installation, while ensuring safe transportation between races. In total, three portable dvLED videowall solutions have been built by PPDS, allowing Oracle Red Bull Racing teams ample transportation time ahead of each F1 race weekend.

Completing the VIP experience, other displays featured in the Paddock Club include 4x Philips MediaSuiteprofessional TVs, 7x Philips AOC gaming monitors and x6 Philips 222B9T touch monitors, for a variety of experiences, including two Oracle Red Bull Racing driving simulators.

Support on and off the track

Extending the partnership beyond the track, PPDS has also become the team’s official Innovation Partner and a Red Bull Technology Campus Partner providing day-to-day support to the teams in Milton Keynes, UK, while collaborating on the development of future visual solutions needs.

Tim de Ruiter, Business Development Director at PPDS, added: “We are delighted to have renewed and extended our relationship with Oracle Red Bull Racing. This is a relationship that is driven by partnership, with a shared desire to lead from the front and achieve the seemingly impossible. Oracle Red Bull Racing doesn’t settle for second best, so in 2022, becoming an Official Team Supplier was an incredibly proud moment for us at PPDS.

“In 2023, after demonstrating our unrivalled commitment, capabilities and support to ensure the team’s needs and ambitions are met, we are incredibly proud to become Oracle Red Bull Racing’s exclusive Digital Display Supplier, and trusted to deliver even greater support, whether trackside or in its incredible Technology Campus.”

Martijn van der Woude, VP Global Business Development and Marketing, concluded: “Oracle Red Bull Racing is a team driven by ambitions that mirror our own, optimising results through teamwork, creativity and a firm understanding of the road ahead. I wish the team all the success for what we all hope will be another glorious F1 World Championship season.”
