Srishti Communications bags Trivandrum airport media rights

By Rajiv Raghunath - April 13, 2018

The exclusive contract provides for the OOH firm to design, develop, operate and market the media assets at the airport for 10 years

Bengaluru-based Srishti Communications has won the exclusive media rights at the Trivandrum International Airport for a period of 10 years. The contract provides for the OOH firm to design, develop, operate and market the media assets at the airport’s real estate covering two terminals – Terminal 1 where most domestic airlines operate (except Air India and Jet Airways) and Terminal 2 where international airlines operate, as well as domestic flights operated by Air India and Jet Airways.

Trivandrum International Airport handles a large number of domestic flights that connect with different parts of the country and is well connected with the Middle East and western capitals. In 2017 the airport handled 48,89,991 passengers. The upcoming Vizhinjam port which is just 20 km away from Thiruvanthapuram will also help augment passenger traffic at the airport. Pertinent to add that the city is an academic hub of Kerala with the presence of top institutions like ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation), Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), etc.

The newly built Terminal 2 has three additional jetways and parking bays to accommodate 8 aircraft. The terminal is built opposite the current terminal across the runway and is closer to the city side. The terminal, constructed by the AAI and designed by the UK firm Pascall+Watson architects, is expected to provide impetus to the development of the IT sector and the tourism industry in the southern districts of Kerala.

S Kumar, Promoter Director of Srishti Group of Companies, said, “This is a very prestigious contract for our group. After years of hard work and perseverance to get an entry into the airport segment, Srishti has secured this contract. We have big plans to make this project a huge success by installing state-of-the-art and innovative advertising infrastructure that include billboards, and digital LED/ LCD dynamic signages of international standards to attract the advertisers to this airport.”

Srishti Group has a strong presence at different railway stations in the country.
