R S Sodhi to deliver the valedictory address at OAC

Rupinder Singh Sodhi, Managing Director of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (Amul), India's largest food products organisation with a turnover of around Rs 20,733 crore, will speak about the opportunities and challenges that underlie consumer engagement in the country, and how advertising can realise the goal while being socially responsible

Innovation and creative thinking are central to business growth. The iconic brand Amul of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd has for years creatively engaged consumers through its engaging advertising and communications. Rupinder Singh Sodhi, Managing Director of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (Amul) will deliver the valedictory address on Day 2 of the Outdoor Advertising Convention (OAC) which will be held at Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel during July 24-25. He will speak about the opportunities and challenges that underlie consumer engagement in the country, and how advertising can realise the goal while being socially responsible.

Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd is India's largest food products organisation with a turnover of around Rs 20,733 crore. Amul is Asia's largest milk brand which is owned by 3.6 million milk producers of Gujarat. Under Sodhi's marketing leadership, AMUL successfully weathered all challenges and the brand retained its supremacy in the Indian market. AMUL is procuring around 16 million liter milk per day from around 18,500 villages of state of Gujarat.

Sodhi has 33 years of rich experience in leading and developing the cooperative sector within the Indian dairy industry, having served dairy farmers in several capacities. He has been responsible for creating the current structure of the AMUL, enabling the organisation to maintain and enhance its leadership status within Indian dairy industry.

For more than three decades, he has worked under direct guidance and mentorship of the Father of White Revolution, Dr Verghese Kurien and has ensured that values cherished by Dr. Kurien, such as integrity, dedication, courage, honesty, commitment to farmers and to consumers, remained deeply ingrained in the culture of Amul. Sodhi started his career in sales and took several initiatives in marketing which ultimately help brand Amul.
