No new tenders until GHMC ad policy is implemented
The corporation is keeping in abeyance the renewal of existing media contracts; there is no clarity as yet on when the policy will be implemented
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to keep on hold all new tenders until the state government notifies the implementation of the new advertising policy that the corporation has drafted. A GHMC official told Media4Growth that the corporation is also planning to keep in abeyance the renewal of existing media contracts. There is no clarity as yet on when the policy will be implemented.
As per reports, the GHMC has examined the provisions laid down in the ad policy of South Delhi Municipal Corporation in firming up the provisions for advertising in commercial areas. The corporation also seeks to encourage wall painting and wall mounted hoardings as safety measures.
Under the policy, there will be five categories: large format advertisement, advertisement in public amenities, advertisement in transport entity, advertisement in commercial areas and all other types of advertisements.
