Lalithaa Jewellery opts AG-DMS CMRL Station for semi-naming branding

The media rights for the CMRL are handled by Mark Metro

A regional retail jewellery brand Lalithaa Jewellery has taken up semi-naming branding at AG-DMS metro station of Chennai Metro Rail Ltd (CMRL) for the advertising and publicity purpose. The brand has partnered with Mark Metro which holds the contract for CMRL stations.  The deal was underway before the lockdown however, the construction work is taking up post relaxations issued by the authorities.

Currently, the station is under construction for the rebranding where the brand is adorning the station into the brand color i.e. Blue along with new signages, in order to create mass visibility for the brand. AG-DMS stations records a footfall of nearly 800 to 1,000 a day.

This is the second brand to take over semi- naming branding for the Chennai station after Muthoot Group which has branding on Nandanam Metro.

While there are several advertising options offered by Mark Metro however, the media owning firm concentrates on the semi-naming rights for its big-ticket value. The OOH firm has plans to sell some more prominent stations to reputed brands in the coming months. 

Before COVID-19, Metro had a steady inflow and increase and by March, the average daily ridership touched about 1 lakh to 1.2 lakh. But after the lockdown, the numbers plummeted to 10,000 initially and now gradually the number has risen to 30,000 passengers a day.
