Barry Frey will speak on the theme ‘DOOH – Extending the OOH Horizons’
A digital tsunami is expected to sweep across the Indian OOH landscape in the near future as the industry gears up to meet the future communication needs of advertising clients. The digital OOH environment, unlike the traditional OOH sphere, is highly dynamic, conditioned by a swathe of technologies and content.
Barry Frey, President & CEO, Digital Place-based Advertising Association (DPAA), will be speaking on the theme ‘DOOH – Extending the OOH Horizons’ at the 15th Outdoor Advertising Convention (OAC) that will be organised at the Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel, Powai, Mumbai on July 26-27, 2019.
Barry oversees the trade and marketing association that is leading the digital transformation of OOH advertising. DPAA is the global community that provides leadership, education, best practices, connectivity, digital learning and programmatic leadership, all accelerating the growth of OOH advertising. DPAA membership includes publishers, ad-tech, programmers, location, mobile, data, media agencies, research plus hardware and software companies.
During Barry's tenure, he has vastly grown the organisation's mission and membership base. In addition to DPAA providing marketing and tools for share shifting media spend, the body also acts as a business accelerator to members and the total advertising ecosystem. DPAA membership has tripled under Barry’s watch and has rapidly expanded to all advertising centric countries. He has brought the digital leadership of the OOH industry to its highest level of recognition in large part through his creation of the “Video Everywhere” annual global Summit attracting the highest levels of brand and agency decision makers along with today’s important thought leaders.
Before joining DPAA in May 2013, Barry was widely recognised as a digital and advanced advertising leader and revenue generator. As architect, marketer and chief revenue officer for Cablevision's digital and advanced advertising business, he oversaw the ad sales transition to the digital model. As Executive V.P. Advanced Advertising Sales, he built the mobile and web advertising businesses, and the industry’s leading advanced TV operation, all driving creation of new revenue streams.
Earlier, as Managing Director International Sales and Business Development, USA Networks, Barry created some of the first multimedia advertiser agreements in U.S. advertising. In his international role, Barry built and oversaw the global sales and marketing infrastructure for the networks.
As Senior Vice President Media for the National Basketball Association, he drove TV, print, radio, digital businesses and marketing partnerships while reporting to NBA Commissioner David Stern. Barry is on the BOD for IRTS, Advisory Board for Sonenshine Partners and Simulmedia.
