Bigger digital walls to adorn more Delhi Metro stations soon

By Satarupa Chakraborty - December 20, 2016

DMRC embarks on the digital OOH journey in a big way by introducing more sites in more stations for DOOH along with increasing the sizes of digital walls that are currently available

Adding to current 10 digital walls at the ITO Delhi Metro station, DMRC will soon set up larger digital walls at many prominent Metro stations, which will be used for both advertising and other communications. Apart from ITO, DMRC will introduce digital screens at stations like Central Secretariat, Kashmere Gate and Rajiv Chowk. Increasing the size of digital walls which are sized at 12’ x 6’ at the ITO station, new digital screens will be sized at 16’ x 8’.

Post the completion of Phase-III of Delhi Metro, more stations will be included in this digital journey – including digital walls and LED display panels on new trains that run on these new lines. Going a step ahead, 148 ticketing counters on the DMRC network will have LED screens that provide real time ticketing and transaction details.

DMRC started its digital screen journey earlier this year with 10 digital panels at ITO stations, apart from which DMRC provides only backlit media. In an exclusive interview, Anuj Dayal, Executive Director, Corporate Communications, DMRC, told media4growth that it was an “experimental step”. Embracing more advanced technology, these video panels and walls will operate via a process as simple as running through a pen drive, which was earlier cumbersome involving a few days at the minimum to put up an ad. With an option to provide advertising space to multiple advertisers, increase of digital OOH formats is expected to boost non-fare revenue of DMRC exponentially.
