Alok Jalan to address OAC 2019 on pathways to achieve quantum OOH growth

For several years now the Indian economy has been a shining star on the global sky as one of the fastest growing major economies. The NDA Government in its second term has resolved to grow the national economy to the size of US$5 trillion. The accelerated GDP growth will be powered by rapid manufacturing growth, urbanisation, smart city development, higher per capita GDP growth leading to faster demand growth for a gamut of products and services. The stage is set for the advertising industry to leverage the growth opportunities, and that would also opens up new growth avenues for the Indian OOH industry.

Alok Jalan, Managing Director, Laqshya Media Group would be speaking on the OOH growth opportunity in his address on the theme 'Disrupt OOH to conquer Mount 10k-cr’ at the upcoming 15th Outdoor Advertising Convention (OAC) to be held at the Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel, Powai, Mumbai on July 26-27, 2019. He will be making the presentation jointly with Sai Nagesh, Chief Sai NageshStrategy Officer of Laqshya Media.

Alok Jalan is a first-generation media & advertising entrepreneur hailing from a respected business family. In his 2-decade journey as a pioneering leader in the media & advertising space, Alok has played an instrumental role in revolutionising the Indian OOH eco-system. As a member of the Governor Board of IOAA, he has set the highest standards for the industry in all key dimensions of OOH business. He has been at the forefront of the industry’s forays into areas like self-regulation, steps to develop a common currency, digitalisation of the medium, participation in smart city projects, etc.

Right from the inception of Laqshya Media in 1998, Alok has kept business ethics as the principal guiding principle for doing OOH business. Under his leadership, the group has won prestigious awards in three of the group’s business verticals - OOH, Digital and Experiential Marketing.

Alok is currently pursuing the Owner’s/Presidents Management Programme (OPM) from Harvard University, and actively contributes to various National and International Boards and Bodies in the advertising eco-system. In a career spanning over 30 years, Sai Nagesh has sold advertising space for newspapers, helped launch television channels and worked with leading advertising agencies. He was also a part of the team that launched GroupM in India. He has successfully launched two television channels, worked with ecommerce companies and held senior roles with agencies like Lintas, Contract, FCB, Mudra, etc., apart from having mentored several startups.
