OOH should experiment with new ideas: Padhi & Upputuru
The Out-of-Home platform is social and perhaps the oldest form of social media, say Santosh Padhi & Emmanuel Upputuru
“Nukkad Pe Milna, another interesting session addressed by Santosh Padhi, COO & Co-Founder, Taproot India, and Emmanuel Upputuru, Founder, Chief Integrated Officer, ITSA, began in’playful’ manner with the duo passing a soccer ball all the way the podium.
The speakers talked about the power of the social platforms and illustrated their argument with the Freedom Struggle led by Mahatma Gandhi and more recently the mass movement against corruption led by Anna Hazare. Indian being a diversified country with different social challenges, the outdoor industry could establish a deeper connect with the people by going social, they contented.
Padhi and Emmanuel also cited examples of brand campaigns of Coca Cola in South Africa and Rice Code innovation done in Japan. “What happens in outdoor never stays in outdoor, they said to underline that the messages given out in the outdoor could penetrate the lives of people in a big way.
The talk harped on the message that social media being an evolving platform, OOH industry must utilise this technology to create new growth opportunities.
