Mauricio Sabogal to speak at OAC 2015

Mauricio Sabogal, Global CEO, Kinetic Worldwide, will speak on the theme'Are Digitally Empowered Consumers Changing OOH Environments Globally?'

The ongoing digital explosion is expected to provide fresh impetus to OOH advertising growth in India. Globally, mobility and social media have added new dimensions to OOH advertising, with consumers becoming increasingly digital savvy. In keeping with these emerging trends, Mauricio Sabogal, CEO, Global CEO, Kinetic Worldwide will speak on the theme 'Are Digitally Empowered Consumers Changing OOH Environments Globally?' at the upcoming Outdoor Advertising Convention (OAC) 2015 which will be held at Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel during July 24-25.

Kinetic Worldwide (part of WPP) is the world's largest planner and buyer of OOH media and the global leader in understanding how brands can connect with people's lifestyles and the environments they engage with. Before taking over as the Global CEO of Kinetic Worldwide, Mauricio was Global CEO of BPN, leading global operations for the newly-launched IPG Mediabrands' worldwide media agency network, becoming the first Latin American to reach the position of Global CEO of a media agency. During his time at BPN he built the network, expanding operations to 26 countries and winning significant creative awards, using radical common sense thinking, at Cannes, Festival of Media, among other important festivals.

Mauricio was also President, World Markets at IPG Mediabrands, responsible for 52 reporting offices in 39 countries, in addition to other 50 affiliated offices across six continents. He joined IPG Mediabrands in 2009 as Managing Director, Worldwide of Initiative and President of IPG Mediabrands Latin America.

In 2003, Mauricio was appointed as CEO of Omnicom Media Group for Latin America; during the following years, OMD moved from being ranked number 7 to be among the top 3 agencies in the region; under his leadership, OMD won major global accounts in the region, such as, J&J, Visa, Nokia, GSK, BDF, Danone, McDonald's, Cadbury Adams, Exxon Mobil, among others. During this time, OMD Latin America became the most awarded media agency at the Cannes Lions International Festival.

In 1998, after 9 years working for Nielsen, Mauricio was appointed as President of the Andean Region for Mindshare (part of WPP).

He has been twice jury member at Cannes International Festival of Creativity, President of the jury at the Festival of Media in Miami and President of the Jury at Cristal Awards. Also, he has been recognised as "Legend of the Advertising Industry" by Ad Color and "Most Powerful Latino in the Media Agency business" by Ad Age.
