Dr. Velumani inspires OOH industry at OAC 2018

Outdoor Advertising Convention 2018 witnessed the motivational session delivered by Dr A Velumani, Chairman of Thyrocare. Velumani, on the topic, ‘Leaders are made not born’ where he shared various life mantras from his personal experiences, starting from leaving his hometown with merely 500 rupees to getting his own company registered under SEBI IPO. Some of the advices, he provided for the participants included to focus first, be frugal, trust, transparency. “Focus, Learn, Grow and Enjoy, in the same order should be the way leaders should grow.

Dr. Velumani explained that success comes in life when they have nothing to lose.  “Being poor is the right way to grow. An empty intestine will teach you everything in life than anything”, said Dr. Velumani. In a long session explained, how he is able to build a 3 Thousand crore empire where he added zeros with every achievement.

Leaving his posh job with the Government, he, along his wife another banker left started affordable healthcare institution which is India’s largest healthcare institution. “In the year 1982, I never knew the meaning of the word Thyroid whereas, in the year 2002, I run the world’s largest thyroid company. He emphasised on the fact that if you do what you have learned, you will be a survivor and when you do what you didn’t learn, you will be successful”.
