The Delhi Outdoor Advertising Association (DOAA) has resurrected itself with new industry leaders taking up key positions in the association. The Association has taken a firm resolve to deepen the dialogue with concerned government departments for more industry-friendly ad norms to be brought into effect. In December 2017, DOAA elected Ashok Chopra of Magnum OOH as President, Umesh Singh of Laqshya Media as Vice President, while Ajay Gupta retained his position as General Secretary. Mayank Shyam is the new Joint Secretary of the association, while Rajeev Agarwal has been elected as Treasurer, and Anil Sharma and Rajan Jhanji as Executive Members.

Talking to Medi4Growth on DOAA’s priorities, Ashok Chopra said that opaque and inconsistent ad policies introduced by government departments have been affecting the Delhi OOH business. The association will act in consort to take up the issues with concerned government officials and also strive for more stability in the business.

He added that DOAA would be making every effort to bring the different concessionaires in the region on a single platform and unite them with a common vision. Due efforts will also be directed to expand the association membership.

When asked about how DOAA would work in tandem with IOAA’s North India Chapter, Chopra said that Delhi is integral to North India region and that DOAA would look to work together with the North India Chapter in realising the industry’s common goals.
DOAA will be convening a meeting of its members soon where the association’s agenda and goals will be presented.
