Rapport unveils DOOH campaign across the UK for US Open
Residents of UK can finally watch the US Open on Sky Sports since 2015.
For the first time since 2015, tennis-enthusiasts can finally watch the US Open on Sky Sports. To commemorate the same and to build hype for the Grand Slam tournament, the brand launched a DOOH campaign across the UK. The campaign was executed in collaboration with Rapport, EssenceMediacom UK and DOOH content provider voodooh.
During the tournament, highlights from the previous night’s play are dynamically pulled through into a creative template and displayed during the day. Key fixtures for the upcoming days play are then displayed across the afternoon and evening before live scores are showcased in real-time as the matches play out during the evening and night.
Sky Sports, which also holds the broadcasting rights for the Premier League and Formula One in the UK, had discontinued the coverage of US Open from 2016 onwards after almost 25 years, with some speculating that it may have been due to the rising costs of Premier League rights, although the broadcaster denied the same.
In December 2022, Sky Sports signed a new 5-year deal with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) granting it exclusive broadcasting rights until and including the 2027 edition of the tournament.
