“Acknowledgement and appreciation always bring the best out of any individual or a team. What best platform can one get other than OAA,” says Rohit Markanday.
Rohit Markanday, Deputy General Manager, Trade Marketing, Adani Wilmar has joined the Jury for the Outdoor Advertising Awards (OAA) 2023, after having been a Jury member for the OAA 2022 contest.
Rohit has nearly 25 years of professional experience. Starting his career as a sales and marketing professional, he also branched into brand management, advertising and trade marketing. For the better part of the last decade and a half, Rohit has been actively involved in creating sales strategies to increase distribution, and boosting market share of the products along with conceptualising and trade marketing strategies.
Currently, he heads the trade marketing and activation function for Adani Wilmar, along with the sales and distribution function. Among his numerous responsibilities, he is in charge of driving the distributor engagement programme for over 5,000 distributors along with the planning and execution of OOH campaigns for all products across the country.
Sharing his perspective on the significance of the annual OAA contest, Rohit told Media4Growth: “Acknowledgement and appreciation always bring the best out of any individual or a team. And what best platform one can get other than OAA to receive that validation in the field of outdoor advertising. The OAA contest is a platform where best brains of the industry present the best of their works.”
Setting his expectations from this year’s contest, Rohit says that he is “looking forward to seeing the work which brings WOW and a Smile on the faces of audience and the Jury too. However, the best work is that which helps in generating the desired ROI for every penny spent by clients. So, if the agency can quantify the same, that will help in evaluating the campaign.”
About his experience of being on the Jury, he adds that “It’s really an enriching experience to be a part of OAA jury. We witness some of the best and interesting campaigns in the terms of the creative quotient, in-depth planning and fine execution. At times it is challenging to rank the competing OOH campaigns as these have all the ingredients to be the best.”
The Outdoor Advertising Awards is a unique platform that recognises the best OOH media campaigns and aims to give them the recognition they deserve. If you believe your work stand outs, then go ahead and show us what you got!
