KAIA Thiruvananthapuram distt committee paves way for authorisation of hoardings

By M4G Bureau - June 24, 2019

The media operators are required to submit their applications for due authorisation of their respective hoardings not later than June 30

KAIA The Thiruvananthapuram District Committee of the Kerala Advertising Industries Association (KAIA) has asserted its leadership toward ensuring that the media operators in the district are on the right side of the prevailing outdoor advertising norms by advising the members to comply with the display of licensing boards on their respective hoardings in the city. This followed the Kerala High Court’s mandate for removal of all unauthorised hoardings in the city of Thiruvananthapuram, which was to be executed by the city council there. Display of the license board on the hoardings will require all tax compliances to be met, and that would also give the media owners the opportunity to have all their outdoor media assets duly authorised by the municipal corporation.

Ramesh Babu, Central Zone- Vice President, KAIA told Media4Growth that the committee has in discussion with the City Council come up with the design for the license display board that will be available to the media owners at a nominal fee of Rs 500. This move will result in a significant number of hoardings in the corporation and panchayat areas that were unauthorised thus far to be converted into authorised media assets.

The media operators are required to submit their applications for due authorisation of their respective hoardings not later than June 30.
