Kerala govt set to frame new OOH regulatory policies
The new policy, framed in association with NATPAC, LSGD and Transport Department of the Government of Kerala, will be released in the next three months
Kerala is all set to embark on a new outdoor advertising policy with the state government bringing in a new outdoor advertising policy in consultation with the National Transportation Planning and Research Centre (NATPAC) under the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE), the Local Self-Government Department (LSGD) and the Transport Department of the Kerala Government. The policy is expected to be released in the next three months.
According to industry sources, the existing outdoor advertising policy i.e. Kerala State Policy on Outdoor Advertising contains a few gaps, which have been addressed by the new outdoor policy. It has been learnt that almost 90% of the policy has been finalised and the government is only waiting for nod from the legal department of the state government.
There have been numerous rounds of discussions around the new policy and the various suggestions and ideas have been transformed into a feasible plan by the Kerala Advertising Industry Association (KAIA). The outdoor industry anticipates that this outdoor policy will be beneficial and practical for both the government and the outdoor industry.
