Ludhiana MC working on plan to implement new ad policy
While the policy implementation has to be completed in two months’ time, the final approval and implementation will take some more time as each city of Punjab is unique in landscape
As per the new Punjab Outdoor Advertising Policy, 2018, Ludhiana Municipal Corporation has started to evaluate the different aspects of OOH advertisement such as rates, formats, regulations and etc. to formulate the final plan for the proper implementation of the new policy as per the landscape of the Ludhiana city. The report will be submitted to the state government which will further provide a final nod to implement it in the city. An official from the corporation shared, “We are working on the report as per the requirement of Ludhiana city”. While the policy implementation has to be completed in two months’ time, the final approval and implementation will take some more time as each city of Punjab is unique in landscape, the official added.
In addition to the new bylaws, the local corporation is also planning to appoint a nodal officer for the proper implementation of the policy along with an option to file an online complaint against the defaulters, shared the official.
The city-based media owners might have a wait a little long for new tenders. “Any tender will be floated only after obtaining the final approval from the MC,” said the official.
The local corporation is expecting to net ad tax revenues of Rs 10-12 crore in the financial year of 2018-19.
