Nashik, the fourth largest city in the state of Maharashtra, after Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur, with a population of over 1.5 million people, is a vibrant OOH market that sees high participation of regional advertising brands. The city that sees the Maha Kumbh once every 12 years, has a strong industrial base with several large companies having their production units. Among them are: Atlas Copco, Robert Bosch GmbH, CEAT, Crompton Greaves, Graphite India, ThyssenKrupp, Epcos, Everest Industries, Gabriel India, GlaxoSmithKline, Hindustan Coca-Cola, Hindustan Unilever Ltd, Jindal Polyester, Jyoti Structures, Kirloskar Oil Engines, Larsen & Toubro, Mahindra and Mahindra, Samsonite, Shalimar Paints, Siemens, VIP Industries, Indian Oil Corporation, Jindal Saw, among others.

Nashik is also known for its festivals, and is a tourism destination. Investments are growing in the IT sector. The textile industry also lends heft to the city’s industrial base.

The current season sees a gamut of brands actively running their campaigns across the city, with the prominent brand categories being, school and education services, real estate, clothing and jewellery.

Brands that were particularly visible on the OOH landscape are: Delhi Public School, Ashoka Group of Schools, TrueTeachers, Fravashi, Amar Apex, Omkar, DJ Builders, Decathlon, Tyzer, and Pohumal Jeweller.

As the OOH business gains momentum in the current busy season, the media owners are also embattled with rising tax burden that requires collective efforts to prevail upon the city regulators to usher in a more friendly regime for the media operators. At the same time, the city landscape calls for initiatives to declutter the displays and bring in a system for improved showcasing of the brand campaigns.
