Delfrez comes up with a unique activation at Thiruvananthapuram during Onam

The brand teamed up with BMeG to give away surprise gift hampers to passengers.

Airports offer a whole gamut of consumer engagement opportunities to brands. Delfrez, the retail unit of Suguna Foods, undertook a brand activation at the domestic terminal of Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on the occasion of Onam celebrations. The one-day activation, executed by BMeG, entailed giving away hampers to passengers collecting their bags from the baggage collection area of the airport. The hampers came out on the baggage conveyor belt in the same way as the baggage, to the surprise of the passengers who had come to the city on two different flights.

Announcements were made for the passengers to collect the gift hampers along with their respective baggage. Each surprise hamper included a pen, a greeting card, a hand-crafted Nettpattam, a banana chips packet, sarkara varatti (a Kerala delicacy), a key chain, and a fridge magnet.  All those items were packed in a specially designed box conveying Onam greetings.

Airport activations always come with challenges. One of the foremost challenges was security compliance. The BMeG team was able to meet the norms efficiently, keeping in mind the tight timelines for the activity.
