Gujarat: Key destination for brands
Gujarat is one of India’s most dynamic state economies with a strong industrial base. The state has maintained a higher annual GDP growth than the average annual GDP of the country, powered by robust FDI inflows, physical infrastructure expansion, growing disposable income levels and higher purchasing power. The stage is set for the OOH industry to leverage the state’s economic progress.
Gujarat boasts of a large number of home-grown brands that have achieved national and international appeal. Eight Gujarat-based brands have made it to the India’s Most Attractive Brands list of 2015 as category leaders in attractiveness. Amul (owned by the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation) was listed as India’s most attractive dairy-diversified (F&B) brand and Amul Butter is the only reigning brand in the butter sub-category. Other Gujarat brands that featured on the list include Sintex, Ajanta, Symphony, Fortune Foods Products from Adani Wilmar, Vadilal and Rasna. The India’s Most Attractive Brands 2015 Report is based on primary research based on the proprietary 36 traits of attractiveness. The presence of a large number of home-grown brands as well as growing presence of national brands of all hues in different markets of the state make the overall OOH business in the state very robust and growth-oriented.
