Varghese Thomas elected President of KAIA
The election was held as part of the Kerala Advertising Industries Association State conference wherein it was decided that hereafter, all agencies / clients have to sign a MOU with the Kerala Advertising Industries Association before starting a campaign.
The Kerala Advertising Industries Association (KAIA) held its State Conference at the Hotel Calicut Towers, Calicut on January 25th. The conference was inaugurated by the Hon. Minister for Panchayats Dr. M.K. Muneer. During the event, the Election of Office Bearers to the KAIA was held and K. Varghese Thomas was elected President — KAIA, while Syed Akbar was elected the General Secretary and Gireesh Kumar, the Treasurer.
The newly elected Vice Presidents include Jacob John (South Zone), Ramesh Babu (Central Zone) and Bhaskaran Wyanadu (North Zone). The Zone Secretaries include Babu (Main Ads) – (South), Ravi Sangamithra (Central) and Jagadish Kannur (North) .
In his inaugural speech, the minister sought the support of Display Advertising for services provided by State Public Relation Department on public interest. Also, he assured to form a committee including the members from the Kerala Advertising Industries Association and representatives from the Government to ensure uniformity in tax rates across different Panchayats in the state.
The standard operating procedure for the industry was also discussed and finalized. It was decided that hereafter, all agencies / clients have to sign a MOU with Kerala Advertising Industries Association before starting a campaign. The state conference had three sessions, the inaugural session in the morning, the Association Members meeting and the Election of Office Bearers.
