OAC 2018 to feature an Open House with IOAA

The Open House deliberations will focus upon regulatory matters (licensing policies, imposition of taxes with retrospective effect &/or new taxes / duties leading to unmanageably high cost base, curbs on use of PVC flex/vinyl) and payment irregularities

The 14th Outdoor Advertising Convention, to be held at the Renaissance Mumbai Convention Centre Hotel, Powai, Mumbai during July 27-28, 2018, will feature an Open House with Indian Outdoor Advertising Association (IOAA) on Day 2 of the convention. The Open House deliberations will touch upon some of the most critical issues that concern the Indian OOH industry, such as, regulatory matters (licensing policies, imposition of taxes with retrospective effect &/or new taxes / duties leading to unmanageably high cost base, curbs on use of PVC flex/vinyl), payment irregularities (delays in receipt of POs, variance in rates between pre-campaign commitments and post-campaign issue of PO, discounts & credit notes, delay in receipt of payments), among others.

The Open House will begin with a presentation by the IOAA President Noomi Mehta and Executive Director Indrajit Sen, covering the key initiatives taken by the body to address the key issues that underpin OOH business in the country, as well as the issues that need common action. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session where the participants can field questions to the IOAA leadership pertaining to industry-related issues.

Noomi Mehta, President of the Indian Outdoor Advertising Association (IOAA), is one of the architects of the Indian OOH industry’s development. He is currently Chairman & Managing Director of Selvel One. Several year ago, Noomi promoted and established Megasel Pvt Ltd., which later became MMT (India) Pvt. Ltd. He founded Laser Advertising Ltd, a Joint Venture with MMT USA, a $10 billion group for promoting outdoor advertising in India using the latest technology. He is Director and joint owner of Professional Management Group (P.M.G.), India’s first sports management company founded by Sumedh Shah and Sunil Gavaskar.

Noomi is also Director and Founder of Outdoor Advertising Professionals (India) Pvt Ltd (OAPL), a JV between Rediffusion DY&R and Selvel Vantage Group. In addition, he is Director & Founder of Oval Developers Pvt Ltd., a JV company formed to set up and maintain an SEZ in I.T. hardware & software.

Indrajit comes with about 40 years of experience. He has spent bulk of his career thus far with media brands in print and out-of-home. His deep experience in the OOH industry in India and Europe led him to be one of the founders of IOAA. He currently functions as Chief Executive Officer & Consultant to the body. Indrajit is associated closely with developing analytics and monitoring/auditing solutions for OOH advertising businesses including unique IoT and AI based solutions.
