Telangana govt spent INR 177 crore on OOH advertising in 2014-2018

As per RTI reply, the government spent to publicize government developments, welfare schemes and various other flagship programs


In an RTI, Indian regional political party Telangana Rashtra Samithi has revealed that INR 300 crore was spent between 2014 and 2018 on advertising and publicity.

Out of this, a big chunk of INR 177 crore was spent on OOH advertising while the rest INR 120 crore has gone to TV medium.

The government led by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has gradually increased it’s spend year on year on party promotion. According to the RTI reply, around INR 8.5 crore was spent on publicity during Ivanka Trump’s visit to Hyderabad, primarily on formats such as metro pillar boards, model bus shelter hoardings, flyover arches, etc. In a span of four years, a sizable amount of money was spent on publicizing government developments, welfare schemes and various other flagship programs.
