The ad rights have been acquired on the Pahar Ganj side of the station for a period of 5 years
The media investment is in keeping with the facelift that the Delhi Division has given to the station through extensive renovation works. Kumar said the firm will ensure a clutter-free advertising environment at the station, in the areas where it has acquired the sole rights. The objective will be to give every signage a distinctive positioning, such that each unit delivers the maximum value to the advertisers. Apparently, several top corporate brands including banks and insurance companies have already evinced interest in advertising on this media.
The Pahar Ganj side is where premium trains like Shatabdi Express connecting Amritsar arrive and depart, and the passenger traffic comprises mainly business persons, tourists and students who are target audiences for various brands.
New Delhi Railway Station is one of the busiest in the country in terms of train frequency and passenger movement (some 9,00,000 passengers daily using 16 platforms). Around 400 trains start, end, or pass through the station daily. The station also holds the record for the largest route interlocking system in the world along with the Kanpur Central Railway Station. Most pairs of Shatabdi Express originate and terminate at this station. It is also the main hub for the Rajdhani Express.
