NDMC takes stern action against illegal media

Including self signages, the posters, banners and illegal hoardings violating OAP 2017 policy are being removed by the civic body


New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) enforcement department has announced an intensive drive to remove posters, banners and illegal hoardings or advertisements installed at public places and busy markets in areas falling under the civic body. According to the Outdoor Advertisement Policy 2017, prior permission of the NDMC authority is required to display any advertisement to public view in any manner.

It is learnt that the NDMC team has conducted an intensive inspection of the area falling in its jurisdiction such as Gole Market, Connaught Place, Janpath, Shivaji Stadium, Regal, Revoli, Shankar Market, KG Marg, Barakhmbha Road and Bengali Market and removed all types of defacement of property items.

This drive is also taking stern action against self signages violating the rules. As per the policy aforementioned, self signages having beyond the length of the shop or exceeding 2.5 square meters needs to take prior consent by the civic body.

Alongside, the civic agency officials are creating awareness by meeting several market associations and navigating them to immediately remove unauthorized advertisements, self-signages, flexes and hoardings that have been erected in violation of Delhi Outdoor Advertising Policy, 2017 and Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 2007.
