KIA Bangalore, IGIA Delhi among Top 10 performing airports in 2022
The rankings were released by Cirium, a leading provider of aviation data to the travel, finance, aerospace and aviation industries
Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), Bangalore recorded an impressive second position in the Top 10 performing airports in the world in the year 2022, as per a report released recently by Cirium, a globally leading provider of aviation data to the travel, finance, aerospace and aviation industries. KIA Bangalore recorded 84.08% punctuality across 201,897 flights in the year.
Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi was the second Indian airport to figure in the Top 10 list, at 7th position with 81.84% punctuality across 411,205 flights.
In a year when the global aviation industry was facing stiff headwinds following the two pandemic years, and travel restrictions were gradually lifted, it was commendable for two of India’s large airports to have recorded high performance. While passenger congestion at airports, and flight delays were talking points as year 2022 drew to a close, the high performance of KIAB and IGIA were illustrative of the robustness of Indian civil aviation busines, and indeed a great confidence booster for airline operators, air passengers, and as a result, for airport advertising business.
