Revised draft BBMP ad bylaws to be presented to HC soon
The revised draft ad bylaws to be presented for court hearing in 2-3 days
Even as the large format media owners in Bengaluru are exploring the pathway to challenge the BBMP resolution taken on August 6, 2018 to enforce a 1-year ban on outdoor advertising in the city, it is reliably learnt that a meeting took place between Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, Additional Chief Secretary, Advocate General, Additional Secretary, BBMP Commissioner and large format media owners wherein changes to be incorporated in the draft new advertisement bylaws ‘Outdoor Signage and Public Messaging Bylaws 2018’ has been taken into account.
According to sources, it will take another 2-3 days to incorporate the final changes in the new draft advertisement bylaws 2018. And this time it has been assured that the new advertisement bylaws will be brought before the High Court of Karnataka for final hearing.
