Senthil Kumar, CBO, Dindigul Thalappakatti to address 1st South India Talks OOH Conference on Jan 20

Senthil Kumar will be speaking on the theme of ‘Leveraging OOH for hyperlocal advertising - key success factors’.

Hyperlocal advertising is a great way to drive traffic to brick and mortar outlets. A gamut of brands are seen to take this route to attract consumer attention to the FMCG, retail, and entertainment outlets, and experience zones. Senthil Kumar, Chief Business Officer of Dindigul Thalappakatti, a vast chain of restaurants, will be addressing the 1st South India Talks OOH Conference at Courtyard by Marriott, Bengaluru on January 20, 2023.

Senthil will be touching upon aspects, such as:

(i) How hyperlocal advertising is a key lever for business’ customer engagement.

(ii) How OOH complements digital media in building consumer connect and attracts consumers on their path of purchase or consumption.

(iii) How creative messaging makes the difference for brands.

(Iv) Factors that will augment OOH media’s ability to deliver much more to brands in the hyperlocal environment.

Senthil Kumar comes with over 25 years of proven experience in building multi format retail concepts, managing complex cross functional operations, delivering great customer experience across channels and creating value for investors. He is one of few retail professionals who has worked across luxury big box retail, multi format value fashion, premium beauty retail and F&B retail.

Senthil is currently the CBO of Dindigul Thalappakatti (DT) India's leading ‘biriyani’ brand and a CDR chain based out of Bengaluru. He spearheads the overall growth strategy of the brand which includes Operations, Expansion, L &D, Customer Experience and Marketing. The key commitment is to expand the brand across globe with consistent service, food quality & great dining experience.

Prior to DT, Senthil was the COO of YLG (You Look Great), India's innovative premium salon chain based out of Bengaluru. He had spearheaded the brand building from inception and scaled it to 70+ outlets across the country with omni channel presence. He was instrumental in raising three rounds growth capital from some of the marquee investors.

Senthil started his career with Arvind Brands and managed sales operations for Arrow, Lee and Wrangler, the luxury fashion brands offerings from the Arvind Mills Group. Senthil got his passion towards big box retailing and decided to stay put in the retail industry.

As he explored to find the right fit for his passion, he joined Shoppers Stop Ltd and worked across Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai in different roles and designations. Before leaving, Senthil was heading the region Shoppers Stop, Home Stop, Mother Care and Brio Café.

After 7+ long years of working with Shoppers Stop, he came back to his 1st company Arvind Brands Ltd, as VP & Head - Operations & Business Development for Megamart, the value fashion vertical of the company (now Unlimited). He was responsible for Operations, Expansion, Marketing and VM. He was one of the brains behind the large format expansion of Megamart and was spread across 500,000 sq.ft of retail space.

After spending considerable time in Arvind Brands, Senthil spent a short stint with Prateek Lifestyle Ltd as VP & Head - Retail where he was responsible for Coupon (a discount branded fashion format) and started a new high street men’s fast fashion brand F Square. He created a record by launching of 53 stores in 30 days and built 130 stores in 3 months.

Senthil has won many awards for the brands he worked & was also selected as Young High Retail Professionals of Asia in 2005 by IGDS.
