Nagpur MC to strike down illegal hoardings

Operators responsible for putting up those sites will face penal action

The Nagpur Municipal Corporation undertook a survey of hoardings that are deemed illegal in the city to firm up the steps to bring them down. As per the urban local body’s advertising norms, hoardings shall not be installed within a specified distance from traffic signals, schools, colleges, etc. It emerges that many of the hoardings found to be illegal are put up by prominent operators. The survey was conducted on December 9. The city’s Mayor Sandeep Joshi has lauded the efforts of the corporation.

The Corporation Commissioner Abhijit Bangar has ordered that the illegal hoardings are to be taken down immediately, and the media owners responsible for setting up those hoardings will face penal action.
