Kingfisher East Bengal Football Team unveiled at South City Mall, Kolkata

Kingfisher East Bengal Football Club, one of the reputed and oldest soccer teams in Bengal, introduced their team for 2014-15 to the club's fans at South City Mall, Kolkata. The initiative was jointly organised by the club and the South City Mall. A giant podium was created in the mall atrium where the fans thronged to see the players. The event was also marked by the launch of'East Bengal Deo' by the players. Many of the veteran players of the club were present at the event.
On the event, Dip Biswas, DGM- Marketing & Operations, South City Projects, said, "This is for the first time that such an activity has been done by any club in India where the entire team for the season was introduced in a mall environment. Some 10,000 people were present during the launch programme. The entire venue was branded with the theme colour of the team which is red and yellow. The best part is that the team also got the opportunity to connect with people who may not be following soccer regularly. We have plans to take up such initiatives for other clubs as well.â€
To engage the crowd, several contests were organised including a quiz contest, football juggling and a dance to tune of East Bengal Football Club theme song.
The club is also launching its own East Bengal Football Club Café inside their tent where various details and records of the team will be displayed.
