DMRC begins Noida – Greater Noida corridor trail run with new OOH opportunities

The new coaches will have LED backlit LCD/TFT displays which will have videos playing inside trains; the line is expected to begin in 2018 this year


Delhi Metro Rail Corporation flags off the first test run on the Noida – Greater Noida Corridor which opens new route to be covered by the widely deployed network along with new outdoor advertising opportunities. Each coach is equipped with 6 LED backlit LCD/TFT displays (about 450 mm, 18.5 inches) that will be used to display special messages/advertisements etc (Including videos). It may also be used to display information regarding the ongoing train route. Each train will comprise of 4 coaches. The corridor will have a total of 19 train sets (i.e. 76 coaches).

Geographically, this new corridor will cater to Greater Noida that has become a residential and commercial hub. A number of residential colonies and apartments have come up in the area and all major schools and hospitals have opened their branches in Greater Noida. Being directly connected to Noida through the expressway, Greater Noida has become the popular destinations of all major Corporates who have their offices there.

This link will be operational by April 2018. It is estimated to have a ridership of 1.2 lakh a day which will rise to 4 lakh by 2031.
