Prem Shankar Jha, Dy. Commissioner, South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), spoke on the need for local governance and OOH to work together at the 15th Outdoor Advertising Convention (OAC) held in Mumbai on July 26th and 27th

Prem Shankar Jha, Dy. Commissioner, South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), addressed a full house at the 15th Outdoor Advertising Convention, OAC 2019, and spoke on the theme of ‘How OOH links up with local governance’. Jha explained that the OOH medium and local governance could become two sides of the same coin if they worked together. “Linkage of OOH medium with the local governance can only be possible when business and civic bodies work together to modernize the place with green, clean and sustainable technology,” he said.

Jha also stated that the government bodies’ advertisement revenue had gone up significantly, from Rs 40 crore in 2015-16 to Rs 150 crore in 2018-19, and how transformation of OOH has reshaped the overall city’s development.

Pointing out the varied advantages of the OOH medium and the significance of content over size of the advertisements, Jha concluded, “All that is needed is right policies at the government levels and right attitude of the outdoor industry players towards building a smart city.”
