The new policy has segregated the city into four zones permitting different formats considering public access, the environment, traffic safety and aesthetic factors of the city
In Zone A, no hoardings (including neons) are permitted and includes areas such as Kumara Krupa Road, Rajbhavan Road, Ambedkar Veedhi, Post Office Road, Chalukya Circle, Maharani College Road, K R Circle, Nrupatunga Road, Palace Road, Cubbon Park and Lal Bagh.
Along with standard conventional formats such as BQS, FOBs & Underpass, E-toilets and street furniture and etc, the new policy also allows the installation of LED displays but with clear notifications such as no audio, static display with minimum 8 seconds of durations and etc.
The BBMP has issued a public notification inviting objections after which it will be sent to the government. The government will finally decide on notifying the advertisement policy.
