Unipoles set for debut on Chandigarh landscape
The UT Administration has permitted installation of unipoles in particular sectors, industrial area and IT park
The UT Administration of Chandigarh has granted permission to the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh for the installation of unipoles for advertising in designated areas of the city. As reported by a national daily, the permission has been allotted with certain conditions. The unipoles will not be allowed in sectors 1-30 and the 24 locations where permission will be granted would be from sector 31 onwards including Industrial Area and IT Park.
The idea was to shore up the revenues of the civic body in these times of cash-crunch. The MC will lease the media format to an external agency which will do the business. The final decision on leasing out the space is yet to be taken.
