The Lancaster Circus Banners are the latest addition to Ocean Outdoor UK’s premium OOH network, launching in Birmingham this week. Nintendo is the brand partner.

Measuring 500 square metres and flanked on either side by two portrait banners of around 60 square metres each, Lancaster Circus becomes Birmingham’s biggest banner installation, overlooking one of the city’s busiest intersections.

They form part of Ocean’s long term DOOH contract with Birmingham City Council which combines a mix of roadside formats with city centre screens, accommodating both commercial, public information and community messages.

Situated next to Aston University in the heart of one of Birmingham’s biggest student quarters, Lancaster Circus’s size and prominence captures younger audiences, along with motorists travelling via the A38, Aston Expressway and inner ring road.

Nintendo’s campaign forms part of its 40th anniversary celebrations marking the remake of the 1988 action adventure game Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, which has a global release on 5th November. Planning is through the7stars.

Ocean this month also extended its DOOH network, The Loop, which now features 53 small format full motion screens in Birmingham. Five double sided screens have been installed in the Mailbox, a retail, residential and leisure neighbourhood, working with landlord Martley Capital. The Mailbox is anchored by a collection of leading retailers and designer brands including Tommy Hilfiger and BOSS.

Ocean currently provides a total of 242 screens in 73 Birmingham locations. These include the Birmingham Media Wall, The Two Towers Birmingham, the M6 Tower and Hammerson’s landmark Birmingham Media Eyes, which are due to return in 2027 following a three year hiatus to accommodate redevelopment.
