SDMC floats tender for ad rights in BRT Corridor
The tender is for 10 unipoles, 8 toilet blocks and 50 flag signs. Flagsigns will be used for both social messaging and commercial advertising purposes
South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has recently floated a tender for outdoor advertising rights in the Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) Corridor in the city. The tender is for 10 unipoles, 8 toilet blocks and 50 flag signs. Flagsigns will be used for both social messaging and commercial advertising purposes.
Earlier ad rights in the BRT corridor were handled by the Delhi Integrated Multiple Transport Services (DIMTS), which after dismantle of the corridor earlier this year, came to SDMC. Prem Sankar Jha, Additional Deputy Commissioner, SDMC, explained: ”Only Rs 12-15 lakh of ad revenues were being earned from this stretch and we are looking at a minimum of Rs 60-65 lakh through this tender. It may go up to even Rs 1 crore marking 7-8 times growth.”
“We have already done a great job in the Nazafgarh zone where revenue has gone up from Rs 15 lakhs per year to a whopping Rs 18-20 crore. SDMC is surely taking substantial jump in earning revenue when it comes to earning from outdoor advertising in Delhi,” he added.
January 3 is the last day of bidding for the tender.
