MCGM, MHOA to discuss issues related to rooftop sites
MHOA’s stand is that permissions for erecting rooftop sites should be given on case-by-case basis depending on the strength of particular buildings
The Mumbai Hoarding Owners’ Association (MHOA) will be in discussion today with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) to settle the issue centred on rooftop sites in the city. The meeting gains particular significance in view of the fact that the final ad policy for Mumbai is to be presented before the GHMC Commissioner Ajoy Mehta for his approval. The issue surrounding rooftop sites has caused some delay in the firming of the ad policy.
The draft ad policy did not provide for any rooftop sites in the city, but the MHOA has been insisting on the inclusion of the format and went to court on the matter. It is learnt that MCGM is asking MHOA to withdraw the case. Today’s meeting will be an attempt at finding a mid-way to resolve the issue.
MHOA’s stand is that permissions for erecting rooftop sites should be given on case-by-case basis depending on the strength of particular buildings.
There are some 218 suggestions and objections relating to the ad policy that will be examined. The final draft once approved by the MCGM Commissioner will be tabled before the civic body’s general body for a final nod.
