Flipkart Minutes stretches aarti lyrics across OOH this Ganpati season
While you were busy singing “Ganpati Bappa Morya”, Flipkart Minutes got a billboard to sing along too, turning a familiar line from the Vitthal aarti into a playful, sequential OOH execution.
This Ganpati season, Flipkart Minutes has found a culturally familiar way to make its OOH communication stand out — by taking a line from the much-loved Vitthal aarti “Yei Ho Vitthale Majhe Mauli Ye” and giving it a billboard-sized treatment.
Installed across a toll plaza, the multi-panel hoarding picks up the line “Nidhalavari kar thevuni, vaat mi pahe” and stretches it across the outdoor format. The first panel begins with “Nidhalavari karrrr…”, the second extends the sound across a long run of “Krrrrrrrr…”, before the third completes the thought with “Thevuni vaat mi pahe.”
The creative is rooted in a cultural cue that is instantly recognisable to its audience. Rather than simply putting up a Ganpati greeting during the festive season, Flipkart Minutes has borrowed the rhythm and words of a devotional aarti and translated them into the language of OOH.
The four billboards work as one continuous piece of communication. The stretched typography plays with the way the line is sung, while the physical sequence of the hoardings allows the lyric to unfold as motorists move through the toll plaza.
The final panel brings the brand into the cultural moment, shifting from the familiar lyric to Flipkart Minutes and its delivery proposition. This makes the execution more than a festive adaptation: the brand has found a way to insert itself into a phrase that audiences already know, rather than creating an entirely new festive message.
